About Us
I'm Rosie Craven and I am the creator and founder of Colour Synergy & Balance. I have always been fascinated by how your environment can affect how you feel, how you think and what you achieve. And it's not about decor or how much money you have spent on furnishing your home.
This fascination led me to build on my Diploma in both Interior Design and Colour Therapy, to studying Feng Shui at the accredited and nationally recognised Australian College of Environmental Studies. I have also complimented this with a certificate in Chinese Astrology. I am committed to sustainable environmental practices which benefits your health and environmental footprint.
In my practice I use form, compass and flying star school Feng Shui as well as Geomancy and Space Clearing.
What is Feng Shui?
The purpose of Feng Shui is to create environments where the energy (QI) flows smoothly to achieve good physical and mental health.
Feng Shui helps create harmonious relationships, fosters good health, revives energy and attracts prosperity and good health.
Feng Shui uses formulas that help us understand what energy is present in a dwelling. It helps us find the best location for beds, desks and other furniture in our homes and workplaces, where we spend our time.
Certain colours, designs, shapes and materials all help support us in our living environments.The Feng Shui of any building reflect the people who occupy it. This means that whatever is happening in the lives of the occupants, is what the Feng Shui is also indicating.

Colour Therapy
Colour has the capacity to transform our lives. It can affect our moods, how we interact with others and even how others see us.
Every frequency of visible light, each colour, creates changes in us at many different levels, physically, emotionally and mentally. By learning to recognise and use colour with awareness you can bring positive and powerful changes into your lives.
The colours of our environment affect us in subtle but significant ways. We bring colour into our lives all the time. Our choice of colour is often based on an unconscious attraction, which can often reflect your emotional state at that time. As you grow in colour sensitivity however, you will learn to select the colours that you need to keep you in harmony and a state of balance.
How I work
Colour Synergy & Balance can help you benefit from colour therapy by suggesting the appropriate healing colours that you personally need in your home or work environment. This can be simply a colour consultation or in conjunction with Feng Shui.
Interiors
Rosie has a background in both residential and commercial interiors. She can help you create an interior environment in which you can feel totally at ease. For you this might mean a very relaxed beach theme, with a light and airy feel or you may feel more at home in a room with a rich tapestry of colours and fabrics.
The key to Rosie's interior advice is her willingness to listen to your needs and her desire to help you find the right combination of colour, soft furnishings, styles of furniture and decor that will help you create your haven.

Building Biology
Building Biology is the study of the relationship between buildings and life. It is concerned with the connection between people and buildings and between buildings and the environment. Building Biology identifies the many hazards that we encounter in our home and work environments that may be affecting our health.

Sick Building Syndrome
This is a term used to describe a condition in which people experience ill health only when inside a particular building. They are free of symptoms when not in that building. While symptoms vary from person to person, they may include headache, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, nausea and eye/nose/throat irritation.
The reason we include Building Biology as part of Feng Shui is because it is a modern living issue that affects us physically in our modern environments.
We include information on minor hazards in our consultations to help our clients become aware of these issues which are compromising their health. However if we find that these hazards are seriously affecting the health of the occupants, then we will recommend a qualified Building Biologist who is trained and has the necessary measuring devices to gauge these hazards.

The Schools
In my consultations I use three schools of Feng Shui. Form school looks at the visible form of the landscape and features that surround a site or building, whether it be natural or man-made.
Compass School looks at the influence of direction on a building. By using a compass it is felt that a magnetised needle, can pinpoint the flow of Qi or energy on the earth. Based on this the building is divided into eight sectors, which relate to the eight directions of the compass.
Flying Star school is a particular branch of Feng Shui that looks at the influence of time on a building. Every year, month, day and hour represents a different energy coming into the building. This school is based on numerology.

Space Clearing
The art of Space Clearing is derived from tribal customs and Feng Shui techniques, including those from Tibet, India and Native American tribes.
Over the centuries, various elements have been applied to clear negative energy of current or past occupants from a dwelling, including the sounds from singing bowls, Tibetan cymbals or metal chimes. Drumming, clapping, purification with salt water and the use of incense are some of the methods also used.
Once this negative energy is cleared we are then able to use the cleared space in a more productive way for ourselves.
If we find during a consultation that this is an area of concern, we will recommend that a separate Space Clearing consultation be organised with a qualified Space Clearing specialist.

Geomancy
Geomancy relates to the idea that we have a close and subtle connection to the environment around us. This relationship extends far beyond the obvious physical connection that we encounter on a daily basis. It involves dowsing to help gain an insight into the relationship you share with the land that you inhabit.
There are certain powerful currents and lines of magnetism that run invisible through the landscape over the whole surface of the earth. There are subtle energies or earth radiations that directly affect our health and well-being. Geomancy identifies those energies that are disruptive to our lives and balances them.
It has been shown that Geopathic Stress undermines the immune system over time and increases your susceptibility to disease. Geopathic stress has been linked to issues such as insomnia, nightmares, depression, nervousness and fatigue. Geomancy is a tool that is used to discern and influence the health of the spirit of an area. The earth is alive and by using divining rods we are able to discern imbalances and implement remedies or actions that need to be taken.
The aim of the geomantic process is to harmonise your site and this is done by neutralising the stresses in your environment.
